BREAKING: Mid-air collision of B-17 and P-63

While performing at the Wings over Dallas air show at Dallas Executive Airport (TX) two warbirds collided today, 12 November 2022. A Boeing B-17 bomber was hit by a Bell P-63 King Cobra.

Looking at the footage of the collision on YouTube, the fighter was in a descending lefthand hand turn when it hit the Flying Fortress. The B-17’s tailpiece was literally sliced off aft of the wings when the Kingcobra impacted.

Both immediately went down, causing a huge fireball on impact with the ground. The crews of both planes sadly perished.

The B-17G had registration N7227C (32513) and was flying around with serial 44-83872 Texas Raiders. The King Cobra was N6763 (296E1-1R) and both were owned by the American Airpower Heritage Flying Museum.

As soon as further information appears, we will publish it.
