Hello, is there any chance gthat the CSAR exercise planned at Florennes this has been cancelled? The responsible organisazion, European Air Gruop, does not mention anything on their website (only if you use an old link), but a large VOLCANEX CSAR exercise will be taking place at Holzdorf in Germany at almost the same time of the planned exercise period in Florennes. Any more info, anybody?
VOLCANEX 2007 will be a multinational force integration training event involving personnel from 9 nations (the 7 EAG nations together with Norway and Sweden). The scenario has been developed to be reasonably representative of the real world and requires a multinational force (Task Force VOLCANEX-07 (TF VOL-07)) to deploy to a fictitious country (ZODIALAND) to support a UN Mission by establishing a secure environment for the unhindered conduct of a Peace Conference between rival factions from ZODIALAND.
VOLCANEX 2007 will be held in Germany over the period 13-22 June. HOLZDORF has been designated as the Forward Operating Base for TF VOL-07. The Peace Conference will take place in the nearby ANNABURGER HEIDE. The higher level command and control organisation will be simulated by exercise control staff from the EAG.

The extensive range of activities encompasses force protection, joint personnel recovery, rotary wing operations, medical, logistics and communications. The event is planned to culminate in a non-combatant evacuation operation. VOLCANEX 2007 will not be used to evaluate the capabilities and competencies of the participants. Its aim is to validate and update EAG developed products (like Technical Arrangements, studies, guides, handbooks or standard operating procedures) that have utility in the real world and can be used by planning staffs for future multinational operations. Importantly, it will allow nearly all of the products of the DMAW project to be validated and/or updated. "
