Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

I just missed the PH-BVD, so here's a selection what arrived at 18R in the hour after that (~1745 - 1830 LT)

Just some "regulars", but I thought I'd share them anyway. :)

Hoi

Eric-Jan

[EDIT: English translation added as this is an English language forum]

*&^%@%,

I was going to do that (straighten the horizons), but that doesn't work in DPP. So I was going to do some Paint Shopping... I never got around to that.

Next time I'll take more time for this whole Post=processing chapter.

Thanks for your response, Ton.

Why don't you use PhotoShop? All in one instead of using more than one editing programs...

Because I don't own Photoshop :) and it's $$, or at least €€

I do own Paint Shop Pro X, which can handle Canon RAW (CR2) files as well, but I find I get better (more clear) results handling the CR2 files with Canon's own Digital Photo Pro that came with the camera. Downside is that DPP only rotates the pictures 90 degrees at a time... So I need to do a last touch-up with PSP for a (large ;)) number of pictures. For those that have an acceptably level horizon, however, I find that the CR2 to JPG translation delivers better results in DPP.

Plus:
This way I learn the hard way to keep my camera level, as it will save me a lot of hassle afterwards... :)

But I guess you're right, I should give PS a try. Maybe it converts Cr2 to JPG better than PSP (at the same compression level), and then I would be done with only one software. That's worth something too.

P.S. This is heading towards a "Photography thread" instead of a "Photothread" ...

Well Lightroom is very good software too. You can get it free for 30 days and then get a crack which is easy to fnd via google..
