Continental Airlines will leave SKYTEAM on 25 October 2009. This will result in a reduction of CO flights and codesharing via Amsterdam, as CO commences its membership of STAR ALLIANCE and opens FRA as its primary European hub.

From 25 October 2009 the 2x CO flights at AMS will be:

- Arr. 08.00 AMS Dep. 09:30 - arr. IAH 13:25 CO 59 non-stop B777-200
- Arr. 08.15 AMS Dep. 13:20 - arr. EWR 16.00 CO 71 non-stop B757-200

Below a quote from an interview with the Managing Director of GARUDA, offering first indications that GARUDA may be returning to Amsterdam soon"

Garuda also has Boeing 777-300ERs on order for first delivery in 2010. These are to be used for services to Europe and the USA but Satar says "We plan to start Europe services with flights to Amsterdam via Dubai using its A330s."

Don't think so .
Maximum range of a 737-800 is about 3000-3100 nautical miles
Amsterdam - Dubai is about 2800 nautical miles

Transavia's furthest destination with a 737 was ( or is ) Banjul, Gambia about 2600 NM.

Considering flight will be full with pax, and enough fuel for alternates you can forget about DXB.

Ciao,
Sil

That's nice, but Garuda will first have to cope with the fact that all Indonesian aircraft are banned from European airspace at this time due to safety issues...
