Gents
Expected to depart around Christmas last year, CS-TMR is still at Amsterdam. Any one of you have indept info about the reasons she is still not ferried to Lisbon No guesswork please.

Somebody from the Airport told me, that the plane has too much corrosion. The rust is eating the plane slowly.
Sorry, but I can't help myself doing some good guesswork, so here we go: "Don't think this bird is ever gonna fly again".
Just had a phonecall with the maintenance manager of Luzair re CS-TMR.
This afternoon the aircraft will do some engine runs, and the fuelleak will be repaired. The aim of the game is to get TMR out of AMS asap.. Planning is hard to say... but they expect in between 2 and 4 weeks from now. aircraft is now not allowed to depart by the authorities due to corrosion on the belly. This will be repaired in the next coming weeks...
To be continued..

Can anyone confirm the engine runs actually were untertaken this Wednesday?
Would be a shame if this TriStar met her maker at Amsterdam instead of flying around for a couple more years....
Aircraft did make testruns yesterday afternoon in front of hangar 11/12.
Received confirmation from Luzair clearly stating that they will fly out of AMS to VCV. Only issue left now is the corrossion part in the belly, but as earlier said this will be repaired during the next 2-4 weeks. Thereafter the authorities will inspect the aircraft again and when satisfied will issue a ferry permit.
question, maybe a little bit of topic, however, a b747F parked at STN airport for over 3 years G-INTL flew wheels down to PIK and on to the middle east for a check according to the article. Are there different rules in Europe? Or was this B747 lucky. When I read back what they have done with this l1011 it's must be close to a new a/c now. Or does anyone have a different story on the G-INTL.
CS-TMR certainly did NOT get the same treatment as some warbird aircraft...
She didn't receive new wings, a new undercarriage, a new avionics fit, new skin, etc...

Don't know about G-INTL...
AFAIK she did receive a new (less used?) undercarriage since in the main gear there were big tears? Most likely after 2 1/2 years of storage some (if not most) of the avionics components would have to be changed as well.
Brgds MP744SF.
Luzair has done several requests for a two engine ferry to Lisbon, when the aircraft had not spend too much time on the ground yet. But all requests were denied.

reading your msg, which engine is not performing?
I think (myself as a mechanic) that this request is made because of the fact that the centre fuel tank can't be used to carry fuel (if they don't repair him enough to carry fuel) and with out this tank the endurance will decrease rapidly (on 3 engines) so with less fuel and 1 engine not activated there is enough fuel to make the trip and have some left in case of diversion.
Has nothing to do with a broke down engine; just a temporary sollution.
