An increase of 5.330.519 passengers in just 12 months, putting AMS ahead of FRA and IST into 3rd place in Europe, behind LHR & CDG.
In aircraft movements AMS is now the busiest airport in Europe, having passed LHR, CDG and FRA in the last 12 months.
Anyone know how much more the airport can cope with in terms of passengers and movements ? Does the airport intend to expand again in 2017 or will more flights move to EIN for example ?

All slots have been allocated to airlines this year, so there might be a small increase in growth this year. However, the limit until 2020 is 500.000 movements (based on noise restrictions) and it's not certain if the limit could be adjusted before that. If not, 2017 might see some growth but after that it will only be minor, at least until 2020. Airlines could send bigger aircraft though.
