Thai Airways signs leases with AerCap

During day two of the 2024 Singapore Air Show, lessor AerCap announced it has signed a lease-agreement with Thai Airways for seventeen new aircraft. In total, the deal is for four Airbus A350-900s, ten A321neos, and three Boeing B787-9s.

Of the four A350s, two have already been delivered, with the remaining two expected to follow in the coming months. The Dreamliners will be delivered in 2024 and 2025, whilst the A321neos will start to arrive between 2025 and 2026.

The leases are part of the in 2023 announced fleet expansion and renewal plan of Thai Airways. Scramble already reported about this in June 2023.

Thai Airways and Boeing also confirmed at the Singapore Air Show the deal for 45 B787-9s, which we reported about earlier this month. Part of the deal and what was unknown earlier, is options on 35 additional B787s and the flexibility to change (part of the) order into B777X should that capacity be needed in the future.
