JAL close to B737MAX-order

Bloomberg is reporting on 8 March 2023 that Japan Airlines is close to an order for B737MAXs. According to the news outlet, JAL is expected to order up to twenty MAXs, which will likely be a combination of MAX8s and MAX10s. It's expected that the deal is to be finalized before the end of March.

Japan Airlines will use the 20 B737MAXs to begin the replacement of its 43-strong B737-800 fleet. Airbus was also in the running for the order but it looks like the airline will remain with Boeing for its narrowbody-operations. The first B737-800 was delivered to JAL in May 2007.
