IAI establishing second 777-conversion line

Anticipating on an increase in demand for widebody cargo aircraft, IAI has decided to set-up a second line for its B777-conversion programme at Seoul-Incheon Airport in South Korea. The line will be created in close cooperation with South Korean partners Sharp and Incheon International Airport.

With this second line, that is expected to be up and running in 2024, IAI will double the number of conversion-slots from six to twelve per year. Next to this line, IAI is also considering adding other conversion lines for the B777-200LR and B777-300ER.

Israel Aerospace Industries has teamed up with lessor GECAS for the B777-conversion programme, dubbing the -300ERSF "The Big Twin". It's excpected that the first conversion will be completed in 2022, with certification and first delivery in 2023. Next to the B777, IAI also offers conversions for the B737, B747 and B767.
