El Al selects Boeing B737MAX

On 11 June 2024, El Al announced it has selected the Boeing B737MAX to renew its narrowbody-fleet. According to a statement from the airline, it plans to order and lease up to 30 MAXs with deliveries starting in 2027. No exact breakdown of which MAX-variants El Al will order has been communicated.

El Al has been deciding between offers from Airbus and Boeing and has decided to remain loyal to the latter. It will use the new aircraft to replace its current fleet of 24 passenger-B737s, which is made-up of sixteen B737-800s and eight B737-900ERs.
