Cargo conversion starts on 1st Saab 2000

Täby Aviation Maintenance, based at Örebro, Sweden, has announced it has started work on the first Saab 2000 cargo conversion in the world. The company, which already has experience in converting Saab 340s into freighters, expects that completion and certification can be done by March 2022. The first aircraft undergoing the surgery is T7-037 (2000-037), which was previously in use with Eastern Airways and stored at Örebro since May 2019.

The conversion project is a close collaboration with lessor Jetstream Aviation Capital, which is based at Miami (FL) and manages a portfolio of Saab 340s and 2000s. It's unknown if the lessor already has a customer lined-up for the cargo Saab 2000.
