ASL Aviation Holdings acquires Pionair

On 3 April 2023, ASL Aviation Holdings announced it has acquired Australian airline Pionair. ASL has already secured all regulatory approvals, meaning the deal is going into effect immediately. The plan is to rebrand the company into ASL Airlines Australia in the coming months and grow the business by expanding the fleet, focusing on cargo-flights.

Pionair is based at Sydney-Bankstown and is currently operating a fleet of two BAe146-200s, one RJ100, seven BAe146-200QC/QTs, three BAe146-300QTs, and a single Embraer E190E2.

ASL Aviation Holdings is the holding company of ASL Airlines Ireland, ASL Airlines Belgium, ASL Airlines France, ASL Airlines UK in Europe, FlySafair in South Africa, K-Mile Air in Thailand, and QuickJet Airlines in India. In total, the Holding is operating 138 aircraft.
