Air Europa to lease new aircraft

Air Europa has announced on 29 August that it has signed a lease-agreement with AerCap for the lease of new Boeing-aircraft. In total, the airline is set to lease five B787-9s and ten B737-8s. Deliveries of the aircraft are to start in 2024 and will be finalized in 2026. It will be the first B737MAXs for the Spanish Airline.

Air Europa is in expansion mode after the airline recently secured its future when IAG decided to take a stake of 20% in the airline, with plans to increase this further in the coming years. Today, the company operates a fleet of 48 aircraft consisting of two ATR72s, 22 B737-800s, ten B787-8s and twelve B787-9s.
