Air Algérie confirms new aircraft orders

Following-up on our news item of 2 May 2023, Air Algérie has now officially placed orders with both Airbus and Boeing to renew its fleet. On 24 May 2023, the airline ordered eight B737-9s at Boeing, and on 1 June 2023, it ordered five A330-900s, and two A350-1000s with Airbus. This is two less A330-900s than originally reported by us.

Next to the new orders, Air Algérie is also looking to secure leases for four A330-200s or -300s, two A330-900s, two B737-800s, and two B737-9s, which should be delivered earlier than the newly ordered aircraft.

Air Algérie is currently operating a fleet of twelve ATR72-500s, three ATR72-600s, eight A330-200s, five B737-600s, two B737-700s, and 25 B737-800s.
