Autotron 1992 visit request

Post by Frank Mink »

Dear all,

Checking old entries in my database and came across a visit to the LIPS Autotron museum in Rosmalen. I have absolutely no idea about what cars were in the museum but below is what I had seen:

Autotron 21 october 1992

???? SV-4 No reg on aircraft
K-… NF-5?
D-26 Anson C19 334Sqn
L-17 S14
N-220 Nieuport 11 Replica
P-263 F-84F did this aircraft had a squadron badge?
PH-HOE S.11-1

According an old EWAS magazine the SV-4 could be an ex French Stampe that went on to storage at Gilze. No ID mentioned.
Apparently in 1981 D-5097 Grunau Baby II was also present. Does anybody know it’s fate?

Any help with filling in the blanks would be helpful!

Greetz,
Frank Mink

I was there in december 1992 (and in december 1988, 1989, 1991 and 1993).

I found no NF-5 in my notes.
The P-263 had a LETS-emblem and the SV-4 is now at the automuseum in Den Haag (on the ceiling).
I think even AIRnieuws did not know the ID of that one. They had a publication about Wrecks & Relics in the Netherlands in the 80s' and I believe it was mentioned there, but I just can't find the book right now.

Hi Frank,

The Anson was ex VM352 RAF.
Yes the F-84 had a squadron badge. See the picture I took in 1995.

Frank, Frank here. The "squadron badge" you see in the picture is in fact the badge of the LETS (Luchtmacht Electronische en Technische School) in Schaarsbergen, where the Streak went after its operational career. The "K-..." you mention is definitely no NF-5. I THINK there might have been a Thunderjet at one point, but I'm not really sure.

Frank,

Was there in 1988
SV-4 unknown (ex La Ferte Alais)
D-26 = VM352
PH-HOE = E-6
plus P-263 and T-33 M-5
Nothing on a K-... thing
