According to this info on flugzeugforum.de, again a ship with UH-60s underway to Rotterdam.

Besides, but bit off-topic here, there is currently a boad enroute to Rotterdam from Coleman with USArmyEurope helos on board.

Finally, in 1 week, the AK ARNG UH-60s will return back home via Coleman.

Anyone more info?

Regards,

Maurits

This night around 18:15h the vessel Vera (from Zwijndrecht) passed on the Schelde-Rijn canal near Tholen on it is way to Antwerp.

95-26642 UH-60L 3-158thn AVN marked as 26642

All last 3 digits are in white.

Anyone know the serials of the missing 3?

3-158th AVN is Ansbach, so they are Europe based Blackhawks.

According my crystal ball we can expect a vessel with Blackhawks heading for Coleman (KFOR13) somewhere in the coming weeks (week18/19/20).
The 2-147 Av. Reg. (Iowa NG) deployed to Camp Atterbury 11 April and (normally) the training in the US takes ~ 1 month.
Keep your eyes open!

Can someone please give a rough idea of the routing the ship takes, and also the approximate timescales.
Many thanks,

Usually the helicopters arrive at Antwerpen and are then shipped to Coleman on the route: Antwerpen-Schelde/Rijnkanaal-Moerdijk-(Waal?)-Rhein.

I don't know an exact time schedule, but Sonny1's crystal ball must be quite accurate!

Besides Iowa ARNG medical air assistance will be given by Arkansas ARNG (C/1-111AVN).

Thanks for the routing info. Does anyone know how long it takes to make the journey from Antwerp to Coleman, so that I can get an idea of how long I have to intercept them!
Thanks,
Andy

See previous posts:
07 Sep 2009, 18:06 - At this moment a ship with 9 Blackhawks onboard, just passes Tholen
08 Sep 2009 - I saw it come by in Rossum around 02:45
The ship passed Duesseldorf, Germany today (8. September) at 21.30 hrs local heading south
Wed Sep 09 - The Helis were already offload today! All were visible from outside. [Coleman]
the ship travelled with a speed of exactly 9.8 km/h upwards the river Rhine.
Answer: ~ 3 days

Ps: Iowa deployed 8 UH-60s (found a video on the web. No regs.)

It is now confirmed that 3 Medevac Blackhawks of Arkansas ARNG will de deployed (besides the 8 pieces of Iowa ARNG).

The unit however will be Det.1/Co.F/2-238 AVN instead of C/1-111 AVN.

Just to keep the subject alive; is there any information available on when we can expect the transport? Predicted was in the next coming weeks.... Would be ashame if they passed in the middle of the night.

Jeroen
