Paris-Charles de Gaulle (LFPG/CDG) - 2008

Post by ciloxan117 »

== Paris-Charles de Gaulle spotting conditions - Please read ==

Hello, from Paris spotting association KeroZen president :

Hello,

Recently french authorities have informed us that there are a lot of new holes in the airport fences at CDG. I copy the internal mail of the KeroZen association for our members. I invite you to transmit it to all spotters. Because this time there is a important change : if this bad way of spotting continues, they will apply against us some measures that restrict our hobby.

Stephane.

"These past few weeks, the sous-préfecture of Seine Saint Denis has informed us that some airport fences have been damaged. These holes are used by spotters to allow them to take pictures through in the restricted area. French authorities are very unpleased by such bad comportment. They have said to us that if these acts don't stop, they have to limit our hobby.

By the past, I did some information, to our members, but also to all spotters via forum or dedicated mailing lists. We can't accept such comportment. Consequences can be important, and no one wants to know how authorities can limit aircraft spotting at CDG.

I can't imagine a KeroZen member doing such holes. So, I ask you to tell to your friends or other spotters that making holes in airport fences is not the right way of spotting. Only bad consequences can occur.

Our behavior around french airports fences is very important, especially at CDG, if we want to continue aircraft spotting."

Thanks for your time reading this ;-)

Hi,

This message was already posted by Vinz and merged with the CDG topic. Although we do appreciate the urgence of what is going on at Roissy, this news essentially belongs in the Paris-CDG topic, and that is where it will be moved again (the 2008 thread) in due time. For the time, read it here as a sticky post.

On a separate note, I don't think it really matters who can imagine doing what. It should just not be done, in this case. Spread the word,

Spotting / Photography at CDG

Post by Planegoodness »

Hi Everyone:

I'm new here, so please excuse me if this has been covered before. Could anyone be kind enough to tell me whom I must contact to obtain a permit for spotting / photography at CDG.

What do I need to send, is it just required for photography, or is spotting restricted too?

Also if anyone is in the paris area from 14th March and wants to meet up, please contact me. I'm fluent in Spanish, Italian and a some French. My English isn't bad either!

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to your replies and to being an active member here.

Best regards.

CDG = Paris - Charles de Gaulle 8)

The authorities at this airport have imposed a spotting/photography ban. Only if you apply for permission beforehand, you are still allowed to take pictures. Unfortunately I don´t know where to go to, but if I remember correctly, cHabu posted some info a while ago. Maybe he still knows?

http://www.scramble.nl/forum/viewtopic. ... 2&start=30" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and check mine Fri Jan 18 message.
I will go to Paris myself (in total 4 but 3 do not photograph) in april and I send them a request to the mentioned e-mail adress.
Sent them a copy of your passport, full name and adress by e-mail (the e-mail adress is mentioned in the post)and they will sent you the permission by mail, no e-mail but real mail...if they give you the authorisation...In my case it took about 4 or 5 weeks before I received their letter by mail.
With this authorisation you are save and do not have to look all the time around you if the police is comming.

Permit at Paris CDG

Post by Planegoodness »

Thanks to everyone who replied to my question, and to "Key" for the welcome.

I have applied for my permit, so I hope I receive it in time for my trip to paris. I'll be sure to post a log of what I have seen.

I don't take photo's, but I've been sent away from the mound at CDG two times already...
My two cents of advice: go for Orly, where the panorama deck is opened. Only downside; taking photo's through glass...
