4. The locals were playing along, too... Here's F-22A 06-4118/AK doing the aerodynamic braking act. The Raptors were also practicing Hot Pit Refueling and were airborne again in no time.

5. Unmarked F-15C 85-0108 was part of the long range escort mission in RF-A 20-3.

6. Part of a two-ship airlift mission was the wing commander's aircraft of the 517th AS

7. And to show that the FL ANG brought their older Eagles too, here's 76-0064. Some of you remember this one with 'HO' tail code, in 1990, at Gilze-Rijen.

8. Bad weather does have a 'sunny' side...

Yesterday we had another great visit at Elmendorf (thanks to MSgt Bryan Jones and Stephen J. Lee of the PAO). This time the sun was out! However, the Japanese AWACS wasn't... Still, some nice piccies, of japanese and Korean C-130s for example.

As an ide aof the action yesterday, first some Sentries...
8. Doing touch'n'goes...

9. Participating RF-A 10-3 from Okinawa

Now some noise!
10. Burning away, at the start of a three hour mission
Image

11. Returning from a fun flight with a crew chief before the F-15s are all gone from Elmo. Remember this one as an 'EG' twin-tub?
Image

Tomorrow, Wedsesday, We'll be visiting Eielson for the fighters (a.o. 'WP' Falcons), bombers (Ellsworth B-1Bs, Italian Tornados, etc.) & tankers of Red Flag Alaska 10-3.

And here we are with the first pictures seen on the Internet of Eielson's Red Flag 10-3 participants. Did someone say "perhaps there are Japanese Eagles at Eielson?" YES!
12. 305 Hikotai F-15C in beautiful Alaskan summer weather
Image

13. 50°Stormo Tornado taxiing out
Image
<the photoshoot was situated in such a way that runway shots would be backlighted. So you will have to make do with taxi shots ;-) >

14. 6°Stormo was also present with a couple of their strikers.
Image

15. VMA-214 "Black Sheep" was in town, too... With a couple of AV-8Bs.
Image

16. But they brought mainly AV-8B(R) aircraft.
Image
And a lot of dollars to spend on the extremely expensive beer in Alaska.

Unfortunately, the Kunsan and Shaw Falcons (28 in total!) were a big no-no to take pictures of :-(. They didn't carry special weaponry, we just weren't allowed to shoot them. Anyway: that didn't spoil the fun, as we had a great time at the media day here. Big thanks to SSgt James Stewart and Airman 1st Class Rojas.

Remember this text I wrote yesterday?
Unfortunately, the Kunsan and Shaw Falcons (28 in total!) were a big no-no to take pictures of . They didn't carry special weaponry, we just weren't allowed to shoot them.
Guess who stopped by today (24 June) at Fairbanks International!
Image
This one seems to have had problems as it left today at 17:30 local, well after the other members (89-0060/WP "8FW" and 93-0450/SW (55th FS)) of the flight that diverted.
