mm,

seems that only 6 of the 8 Italian vipers made it to DM.
Maybe somebody can confirm that the other 2 made a landing in the Eastcoast US?

Is there any destination known for both A-10s? Spangdahlem AB (if really only two)? Or Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan (as advance guard of an ANG "Rainbow Team" to replace the 81st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron from Spang)? Any pictures, taken at Lajes?

According to anonymous comments to my Warthog News blog, both A-10Cs are heading to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, to reinforce the 81st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron.

This source said:
- More A-10's went to Kandahar AF from Spangdahlem as well as the guard. They requested more planes down there.
- also the 81st will be there longer since they sent more people and A-10s.

Any A-10 stopover updates from Lajes? I would be very grateful for any additional info and pictures.

Hi J.J. and others,

I have no additional info about the A-10's.

I think that the 2 ID coded A-10's who where at Lajes did a rendezvous at Sigonella with the 6 SP A-10's and then fly futher into Afgan with the ZZ kadena tanker aswel. That ZZ tanker was spotted several days later on Mildenhall.....

Hi all,

The Pakistan F-16's departed today inbound Pakistan, not sure if they stop somewhere in the med.....
There was a departure delay on the flight because one of the vipers (90613) had a broken engine.........

Next week more transits are expected, keep ya updated.......

Latest 23rd Wing Public Affairs info sounds like the 75th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron with an undisclosed number of A-10Cs will replace the 81st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).

Please check:

http://warthognews.blogspot.com/2010/09 ... uring.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I would be very grateful for any related Lajes stopover info and pictures. Good hunting, guys.

In the begin of next week, Lajes will see a very large fighter flight, more than 18 planes are expected in these flight, offcourse with several extenders and stratotankers!

I will keep this updated as info comes out...
