Taken from http://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic. ... 28#p226428" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which is about the Farnborough SBAC airshow...
Attended the Media preview yesterday.

The stand out military aircraft attending is the CATIC JF-17 Thunder, certainly the first time the aircraft has appeared in the "west"

Other flyers:

A400M, M346, C27J, Eurofighter (Both Alenia and RAF) F22, B52, F18, F16, C130J (USAF)

Static

C295, ATF42MP, 737AEWC, E2C, C17, Omega 707 (Suspect this is an error as its bring the F18's over)

For the civilians, A380, Sukhoi SSJ (latter in Business aircraft park for some reason) and 777 + 787. 787 dependant on test schedule should arrive Sunday before show and depart Tues/Weds
Don't know what days the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JF-17_Thunder" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; should be present at Farnborough (only trade days? And I haven't seen any mention of it on the official Farnborough website yet...) but this would be a major coup!
Of course: Seeing is believing :!:

The reporter ( http://www.apg-photography.co.uk/about.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) is rather reliable though...

I was at the Farnborough launch press conference this week and they gave details of aircraft which will be at the show on 19th to 25th July.

The static will be around 120 aircraft and notable exhibits include the Boeing 787-8 (not in the flying display) and Airbus A400M (static and flying) making their debuts.

Other interesting items are the Viking Twin Otter, Antonov An158, AgustaWestland
AW159, CATIC JF-17 (flying and static) and a DoD display will include the
F-22 Raptor.

There will be quite substantial business aircraft representation from Cessna, Bombardier, Hawker Beechcraft, Dassault and Embraer - though Gulfstream is only represented by Rolls-Royce with a G550.
The flying seems to be quite heavy on the vintage jet scene - and the flying
display lineup includes a 5- aircraft DoD flypast...
Thanks for the info Rod! :respect:

Lockheed slashes participation at Farnborough to save money

By Stephen Trimble

Lockheed Martin will partly define its own new reality by slashing its participation and media outreach at the Farnborough Air Show this year.

"I won't be going to the air show," says Lockheed Martin chief executive officer Bob Stevens. "Many of our corporate leaders won't be going to the air show."

Lockheed also will limit its public events during the show, to include cancelling the annual media dinner, Stevens says.

Reducing the company's presence at the aerospace industry's largest exhibition this year is part of a wider corporate strategy.

"We're changing our approach based on our sense that we are all facing a new reality," Stevens says.

That reality is about facing increasing demands for the military and security services the company provides for governments and markets with rising resource constraints, he says.

Although Stevens says Lockheed's participation will be reduced by 50%, it's not clear what that exactly means.

While Stevens and other executives may abstain, the company is keeping their chalet, which is among the largest exhibitor spaces at the show.

The only Lockheed-built aircraft planned to be displayed on the static line is a US Air Force F-16. A Lockheed F-22 will participate in the flying display, but will be parked at a Royal Air Force base.

"I assure you we will have the right people in the right place at the right time to conduct all the business of our company," Stevens says. "We will meet with customers. We will meet with partners. We'll reinforce our relationships."

It's also not clear whether Lockheed's decision could influence other contractors.

Indeed, Honeywell first scaled back its presence at Farnborough in 2008, eliminating its corporate chalet and exhibit booth.
