Frankfurt Airport 06-04-2024 [CIV]

Post by Krazy »

Not much of a story for this day unfortunately, just a 'pick a destination, because the sun will be shining' kind of day.

We arrived at 8 o'clock at Frankfurt, but the light was really bad. The sun was behind a set of clouds, but the rest around us was clear blue sky.

Challenging conditions that luckily improved quickly after that.

The day turned out to bring a lot of special livery planes, and I'll start with a golden Condor A330. A lot of the Condor planes have these stripes now in a few different colours, but they are still a nice deviation of the standard airline schemes.

ANA brought one of their Star Wars B787s. It was towed from the new terminal 3 to the other side of the field.

Middle Eastern Airlines brought their classic A320 with a 75 Years MEA livery. A nice change compared to their regular A321Ns

Talking about the middle east, Iran Air still has a flight to Frankfurt. They brought one of 2 A330s they have.

Iberia Regional seems to use its CRJ-1000s as advertising boards these days. Ah well, guess its not a regular white pencil plane..

TUI Fly has a number of B737s in different liveries. Three different ones showed up this day, starting with the Cewe Fotobuch livery.

Not everything is hauling passengers at Frankfurt. A lot of cargo goes through the airport as well.

The second of the TUI Fly liveries was the TUI Blue B737. Although TUI forgot to paint the T back after maintenance it seems..

During the day the occasional private plane visits Frankfurt. The F-HSMV is a Beech King Air 260.

This B747 may look standard from this angle but it does have something special as it is the 1500th B747. It has a marking just above the serial, but I only noticed it when it landed. The last 0 of the 1500 is just visible behind the leftmost engine.

Eurowings discover was rebranded to Discover a while ago. I must say I like this livery.

Back to some more special liveries after those two. The D-ANNA from Sundair sports a "Katta macht Urlaub" livery

It was followed by a red condor.

Another Lufthansa plane with a milestone marking. The D-AIEQ is the 600th Airbus delivered to Lufthansa.

Icelandair brought a B757-200 for their flight to Frankfurt.

Another B787 from far away. Mongolian Airlines brought the EI-MGL

Different variation. A green condor this time.

The third special from TUI Fly dropped in. RIU Hotels & Resorts.

Normally the Aerologic/DHL cargohaulers take the Nordwestbahn (25R). This means taking pictures of these from the spottingpoint at 25L is not an option. This one did use 25L, and I don't complain.

To close the day off a first visit to Frankfurt. The YR-WOW from HiSky Europe.

During the almost 5 hours spent at Frankfurt, we photographed more then 130 aircraft. I will upload more to the Flickr album in the upcoming days if you also want to see some of the more regular planes at Frankfurt.

Hope you like them!

Regards!
