Hi all,

Is there any one who can tell me more about the participation of the aircraft carriers?
I searched several french forums to find out what the deal is, with those carriers, but couldn't find anything.

What I like to know is:
- Will the participating carriers stay at open sea, or in a harbour?
- If they stay at open sea, will their aircraft participate in the airshow?
- If they are in a harbour, which harbour will be used? Maybe Toulon?
- Will the carriers be open to public on the 13th? Or on another date?

As you can imagine we still still have a lot of questions, about the carriers and other participants, so if there is anyone who has more information, please let us know!

Best regards, Rob.

For Aereonaval things are not clear too.... The list of carriers earlier this year, was an invitation list.
They are working hard on their plans for June right now.
There will also be events in Bretagne that weekend.

Well, if the Yanks are sending a CH-53, there might be a LPD around.
A couple of years ago the French also had a naval parade in the south with the ships operating out of Toulon and sailing in line astern alongside a certain distance of the French coast...and distant enough to make photography of helo's on board rather difficult! And you will have back light!
If there will be a US carrier it will almost certainly not dock in the port but a little outside to retain a certain security clearance zone around the ship and I am not sure if the port of Toulon can handle a US carrier.

From where would the one hundred fifty aircraft which would take part in the formation take off and is it possible to take photos at Istres Air Force Base.

Marseille might also be a possibility, since that is almost around the corner. But I really wonder about the feasibility of get 100+ aircraft in the sky nowadays. They don't have so much aircraft anymore and it would certainly be more than they'll put in the air every year over the Champs Elysées. And if so, this must be practiced on forehand, so we will get a hint in the weeks prior to the show.

Just curious, it's now allready 150 aircraft. Rob opened the topic with :
Approximately 120 aircraft in the air and several aircraft carriers in the harbor ... On 13 June, at Hyeres
The way i read it is that those 120 is the total dispaly for the whole day, if i deduct the dispayteams like PdF and Breitling and perhaps some more i quickly drop down to around 50 (which is still a lot).
So who says there will be a flightpast of 150 aircraft? rumours/ wishefull thinking or facts?

Does anyone have an update to this? It is over a month now since the above post and their website is still 'under construction'.

Maurice.
