At El Fasher, fighters, transports and helicopters are seen frequently. We have listed them as detachments of their parent units, but they could easily be separate squadrons.

The mighty Mi-24P gunships are being used for border patrol along the border of South Sudan and the Dafur area.

The Su-25K was often put into action during the war in Dafur. Detachments are based at El Fashir and El Obeid airbases.

Geneina has a new airport with a prominent helicopter ramp. The white helicopters may be a detachment but could also belong to an other operator, e.g. the police.

Chinese built A-5 aircraft are still operated in No. 24 Squadron, aside the Su-25Ks. The operational status of the A-5s is not certain.

Many Mi-17 helicopters are deployed near the border of South Sudan (El Fashir, Kadugli, Nyala, El Obeid) for border patrol and support.
