The Meteorological Research Flight (MRF) used to operate the sole Hercules W2, but this aircraft was withdrawn early 2001. The MRF now uses civil registered aircraft.

A handful of Hawk training jets is in use by the Empire Test Pilot School (ETPS), at QinetiQ Boscombe Down. One of these (XX342) is shown here shortly before touch down, at its homebase, on 19 October 2009.

After the RAF and FAA retired its Gazelle HT2 and Gazelle HT3 training helicopters, the only remaining examples of these types were on charge with QinetiQ and the Empire Test Pilot School. The large white code "9", on the nose of this Gazelle, identifies it as XZ939 (Gazelle HT2).
