With just over a month to go, preparations for the 9th May 76th Victory Parade are in full swing in the Russian Federation.

The Russian Federation - Aerospace Forces (RF VKS) have begun preparations for the Victory Parade in honour of the 76th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II).

As of the beginning of April, training takes place over the Alabino area in the Moscow Region. After that more rehearsals will take place over Moscow, with a final dress rehearsal, depending weather conditions, expected on 7 May.

The main parade on 9 May will completed by the aircraft of the air demonstration teams Russian Knights and Swifts, and lastly, Su-25 attack aircraft will symbolically draw a Russian flag into the sky.

The following aircraft will take part in the air part of the parade:

Helicopters: Mi-26, Mi-28, Mi-8 and Ka-52
Military transport aircraft: Il-76MD(M)
Fighters and bombers: Su-35S Su-24M, Su-34, MiG-31K and Su-57
A group of aircraft from the Lipetsk Aviation Centre will also join the parade plus some other to be defined aircraft
