Canada Global 6500 RCAF credit Bombardier 640Global 6500 for Canada

Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier will provide six Global 6500 large cabin, long-range business jets to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The aircraft will enhance the multi-mission air transport capability of Canada’s air force and will perform worldwide utility flights and support missions such as aeromedical evacuations, disaster relief, humanitarian aid, and national security operations.

The Global 6500s will replace two Challenger 604 and two Challenger 650 currently operated by 412 squadron from Ottawa-MacDonald-Cartier IAP. The Challenger 604s have been in service since 2002, whereas the Challenger 650s are operated since 2020.

The order is valued at approximately USD 400 million, and the first aircraft will be delivered in Summer 2027.
