WB Spit MJ627 mishap 1 640Forced landing of Spitfire MJ627

Late in the afternoon of 3 May 2025 two-seat Spitfire MJ627 (c/n CBAF.7722) made a precautionary wheels-up landing near Romney Marsh, Kent. The plane is registerd as G-BMSB, and owned by Fly-a-Spitfire based at Biggin Hill.

The two persons aboard were able to walk a way physically uninjured from the crashsite. The Spitfire has received moderate damage, but this looks repairable. Investigations on the cause of the precautionary landing have already started.
