First Hungarian Air Force L-39NGs
Czech Minister of Defense Jana Ásternochová and Slovak Minister of Defense Robert Kalinák visited the Czech company Aero Vodochody, which manufactures the L-39NGs, to speak about deepening defense-industrial cooperation between the Czech Republic and Slovakia. During their visit to the company the first two L-39NGs for the Magyar Légierö (Hungarian Air Force) were noted (serials 141/0539 and 142/0540).
At the end of 2016 the Hungarian Government launched the ambitious “Zrinyi 2026” modernization programme and since then a lot has changed within the Hungarian Air Force. Part of this program is the purchase of twelve Aero L-39NG aircraft, consisting of eight training and four reconnaissance aircraft.
Other parts of this program were the modernization of eight Mi-24s and the delivery of twenty H145s, two A319s, two Falcon 7s, two Zlin 143s, six Zlin 242s. Also the order for two KC-390s, of which one has been delivered, and the order of sixteen H225s, of which fourteen have been delivered, are part of this program.
