Spain EdA A330 Alejandro Gutierrez 640First EdA Airbus A330

The Ejército del Aire (EdA, Spanish Air Force) acquired three ex Iberia Airbus A330s for 452 Escuadron of Grupo 45 (Torrejon de Ardoz air base), to be used for transport and aerial refuelling tasks.

On 27 October 2021, T.24-01 (construction number 1694, registered as EC-MIL) returned to Spain after painting at Chateauroux/Déols (France). Because the tape with the civil registration had partly come loose, the future code (452-01) had become visible.

Airbus A330 T.24-02 (c/n 1700, ex EC-MJA) is expected to follow in 2022 and T.24-03 (c/n 1719, ex EC-MKI) in 2023. After conversion to MRTT-configuration the aircraft will be reregistered as TK.24-xx. As conversion will commence in 2023 it is expected that the third machine will immediately be registered TK.24-03.
