Bangladesh to buy EF2000 Typhoons
On 9 December 2025, the chief of the air staff of the Bangladesh Biman Bahini (Bangladesh Air Force) signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to acquire an undisclosed number of Eurofighter Typhoons from Leonardo S.p.A.
Bangladesh has been looking for replacements for their ageing fleet of J-7 and MiG-29 fighter aircraft. Talks to obtain 20 J-10C from China were also held earlier this year.
The status and timepath were not disclosed for both planned acquisitions. Normally, it would take some time to get all the necessary bodies of government to give the green light and get the finances sorted before the contract can be signed eventually.
