Antigua and Barbuda Air Wing to be established

Antigua and Barbuda is a small twin island nation in the Caribbean and one of the founding members of the Regional Security System (RSS), which consists of seven independent Eastern Caribbean States.

The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) is tasked with internal en external security and consists of a land branch (the regiment) and a maritime branch (the coast guard).

Late February 2022, the first aircraft for the embryonic aviation branch was revealed at its home base St.John's - V.C. Bird International Airport.

A Britten-Norman BN-2A Islander, with serial A-1 will be the first aircraft of the Air Wing of the ABDF. It will be used for security, patrol and liaison missions, and is painted in dark green colours with the national flag of Antigua and Barbuda.
