Airbus accepted

The first Airbus A350 destined for the Luftwaffe (GAF, German Air Force) which was newly acquired for the Flugbereitschaft des Bundesministeriums der Verteidigung (FBS BMVg) has succesfully completed a customer acceptance flight that was accompanied by test flight engineers of the Wehrtechnische Dienststelle 61 (WTD 61) on 13 October 2020.

During the flight, that took place from Manching air base, various tests were carried out. The Luftwaffe ordered three A350-900s in May 2019, and these will replace the ageing A340s.

The other two machines are expected to be completed by 2022. The Luftwaffe is the first air force in the world to operate the type. The Airbus will be based at Koln-Bonn.
