Additional S-70i Black Hawks for Polish special forces
On 15 December 2021, the Armament Inspectorate of the Polish Ministry of Defence (MoD) signed a contract, valued at € 143 million, with PZL Mielec for the purchase of four Sikorsky S-70i Black Hawk helicopters for the Polish special forces.
The Black Hawks are intended to be used by the Zespół Lotniczy GROM, which is part of the Grupa Reagowania Operacyjno-Manewrowego (GROM, Group for Operational Maneuvering Response) operating from the 23rd Air Base at Miñsk Mazowiecki.
The delivery of the new helicopters is planned for October 2024.
The unit's first four S-70i Black Hawks, serials 1301, 1302, 1303 and 1304, were delivered on 20 December 2019. These helicopters were ordered on 25 January 2019.
