CH-47F D-472 by Mark Broekhans, on Flickr
Sometimes you need a little bit of luck! Just 15 minutes on the bike with no expectations but after a quick look at ADSB I realised there was something special heading my way..
First operational mission for the new CH-47F MYII CAAS delivered to 298 Squadron on 14 April 2021. These new helicopters will replace the existing 11 CH-47D and 6 older CH-47F models. In the end the RNLAF will operate 20 new identical CH-47F MYII CAAS Chinooks.
About 30 minutes later CH-47D D-665 showed up,very low and very fast..

Nice indeed! I have never been to Beekhuizerzand, what are the options and conditions there? Similar like GLV-V, entry allowed as long as you don't interfere with exercises and just be lucky where the choppers will land (compared to your position)?

Basically similar to GLV-V but it is a very large desert like area and luck is needed because there are not to many movements compared to GLV-V. For me it is just a 15 minute bicycle ride but if you are not living nearby it can be quite a frustrating day with no choppers and sand everywhere ..
The area itself is beautiful, using a mountainbike is pretty handy but if you leave the hardened bike paths walking is the best way to move around..
