The Swedish TV4 is not the best source to get information from. Every information channel has their habits and sources.

Sweden does not support with aircraft, but they support in other ways.
France asked after a large part from Swedish smart weapon stocks, which Sweden, or the government of Sweden promised to send. Sweden are also involved in other operations with IS (Iraq+), with support of Special Forces, as they do in central Africa. They also discussed ways to help France with more military support in Africa to release French troops for IS operations.
Sweden are also one of few countries in Europe taking hundreds of thousands refugees from Asia and Africa, with try to help at first people from Syria who is outbombed by Assad and Russia air bombing and refugees from environment uncontrol (ex Ethiopia). A huge cost, even to administrate the help to frustrated people outbombed from their own countries. The costs for the refugees is higher than the countries spend of military actions against IS. Sweden is one of few EU members who help refugees from other countries (as Germany, Austria). But the majority in the parlament was for to send France more help, but they choose to not take the match now. A majority of Sweden is for an association with NATO, and were is forces involved for it in the future. They are hindered by extrem right thinking. Today were are a very lot of contacts and military gaming with NATO planners, as military exercises for force cooperation.
It is still open to send airplanes.
I am sure Sweden is one of the first of many to build up a new Syria or work for the upbuilding of a new Syria and help to the refugees in their camps now. A huge cost. Their Syrian infrastructure are today destroyed.

Sweden has no more money to spend. Easily said, easily done. Something Dutch government should take closer look at. I think it is wise decision. Next step will be bombing in Libya. IS is moving its assets to Libya.....

Sweden spend a lot more money on the refugees than on defence spending.
It is a huge spending.

I should prefer more spending on defence just now, and other EU countries took their part. But I does not role Sweden.

Key ministers have decided to have Belgium cooperate in the bombing of the terrorist movement IS in Syria.

Belgium already countered IS in Iraq, but this effort will now be extended to Syria.

Defence Minister Steven Vandeput said that 6 Belgian F16 fighter jets will be deployed above Syria as from July.

Belgium will join the war against IS under the umbrella of the international coalition led by the United States, and will take over from the Netherlands in a round-robin effort.

It is not clear how often the fighter jets will be deployed and how they will operate.

Like their Dutch counterparts , the Belgian jets can only communicate via classic radio signals, while satellite communication is actually better.
This problem kept Dutch planes on the ground more than once.

Vandeput claims there are no safety concerns for Belgian pilots.

Operating above Syria is as safe as operating in Iraq, he said.

The Belgian decision to extend their operations against IS, was partly triggered by the terrorist attacks in Brussels.
"We have to fight them at their home", Vandeput said in this respect.

German military mulls withdrawing jets from Turkey air base: report


The German military is preparing for a possible withdrawal of six Tornado reconnaissance jets from Turkey's Incirlik Air Base

given Ankara's continued refusal to allow German lawmakers to visit the facility,
Der Spiegel magazine reported Thursday.

The magazine said the German Bundeswehr was evaluating whether it could move the warplanes and refuelling aircraft, which are supporting the U.S.-led coalition's aerial attacks on Islamic State targets,
to Jordan or Cyprus.
It quoted unnamed military sources as saying such a move would interrupt the reconnaissance flights for at least two months.

The German Defense Ministry gave no details about its plans.

"We would like to continue the mission from Turkey,
but there are alternatives to the base in Incirlik,"
the magazine quoted a ministry spokesman as saying.

The Social Democrats, junior partners in Chancellor Angela Merkel's coalition government,
are now insisting that Germany should withdraw its aircraft and troops
from the base given Turkey's refusal to allow German lawmakers to visit the base.

Turkey, angered by a resolution passed by the German parliament in June
that branded the 1915 massacre of Armenians by Ottoman forces as a "genocide",
has denied German lawmakers access to the base.

Tensions between the two NATO allies have spiked after the thwarted July 15 coup,
with Turkey angry abou
t what it called Germany's sluggish response in condemning the putsch
and expressing concern about those killed.
Senior German officials have sought to reassure Ankara while continuing to raise concerns about Turkey's crackdown on alleged coup supporters.

Merkel last month said the parliamentarians must be allowed to visit the 250 soldiers at the base,
although she stopped short of threatening to withdraw the troops.

Arnold said he viewed an extension of the parliamentary mandate for the German military mission in Turkey as impossible.

Without the approval of the SPD, the government cannot extend the mission when it expires in December.

Turkish officials blocked a visit to the base by several German lawmakers
earlier this summer,
and last week told reporters that they would not approve a separate visit planned by members of the German budget committee in October.

Arnold said the dispute would also prevent Germany's participation
in a separate NATO AWACS airborne warning mission from a different Turkish base.

Without German participation,
the NATO mission would be difficult to execute,
the magazine reported,
noting that all 16 of NATO's AWACS jets are based in Geilenkirchen, Germany,
and a third of all crews are German soldiers.
