Indeed, no right main landing gear and landing on its right engine, I think. Strange,..... engine fire and landing gear problems.MainPower wrote:Not sure .. to me it looks like right gear is not out correctly, but who am I to tell ..

Re: That Turkish Airbus that landed with engine fire
source: http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forum ... n/6382141/It is too early to learn the facts however I heard from a friend in the company that the aircraft was on short final when it encountered vortex from a previous aircraft (or maybe windshear) and hit the right wingtip and the engine to the runway, aborted landing and performed a go-around. During the second approach, the right engine caught fire. The pilots managed to land the aircraft safely on the second try. After the landing the aircraft left the runway and ended in the grass. The right mlg collapsed, we dont know if this happened during leaving the pavement and entering the grass area or a due to a piece of the engine hitting the gear.
Passengers in the flight reported that there was panic inside the aircraft after the landlng, but the crew was very effective and very professional and had timely actions and guidance to help passengers disembark the aircraft
