Same thoughts, although this shot is edited in not so common way. Therefore looks dramatic to emphasize the closeup. Colors are (if we can speak of colors) saturated, grey is black, a real "photoshopped" shot which I think looks really cool.

You can probably get another result as well, but that might bring down the power of the shot.

Menno dont ge me wrong te shot look great!
Buy I thinkI will look better if the withe balance would be changed a little bit. (it might take away from te image because of the golden reflections). But when shooting one of the skyteam liverys the a auto with balance it will look really really weird.

Can you maybe send me one of the originals to play with?

Strange , i thought i posted my answer this afternoon, iPhone sometimes acts ups.
I think it's better than the first, it has more -Ka-tsing-! but still has the color cast in it. It is a personal thing i guess, but let me show you what i mean. Forgive me but I used your 2nd shot from this topic and ran it through Lightroom 3.3

Your shot:

Image

Your edited version, which gets better in my opinion

Image

My interpetation: Just played with the White-Balance and then used colortone and saturationto get this example. Go easy on the sliders, you can over-do in a jiffy. Mind you, this is made from your JPG ;) == bad editing! Its an example... My guess is that Lars will like this version cause off the white-balance adjustment. Do as you like, but I think more people will enjoy your shot if you do it like this. But that is just my 2 cents and maybe i'm off here by a mile ;-)

Same goes for your Golden engine cowl..

Later dude!

Here is my attempt from the raw file:

I have to admit that it is a really hard file to edit. And I am still not really happy with it.
I actually like Andras last version better then mine...

[edit] added a little bit more BOOM (contrast ;) )

Hey Guys...

First of all i want to thank you for your time, effort, input and feedback......that's really appreciated. So now about the pictures.......let's just say that this is a matter of taste. Your last two attempts (from both Andras and Lars) are a bit too blue to my taste.......let's say, a bit to far from reality.....on the other hand, the impact is stronger.

Primary effect is, that you guys got me thinking, and i sure will try another way of post processing next time, or at least will play with it a little bit......

So thanks again!

greets

Menno
