Le Bourget (France)
55e Salon International de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace (SIAE)
16-22 June 2025
Leo Hoogerbrugge photographed Italy's latest development in the attack helicopter segment, the Leonardo AW249 'Fenice' (Phoenix). The helicopter is larger than its predecessor, the Agusta A129 Magusta. As of early 2025, the Italian Armed Forces has placed an order for 17 AW249. At the time, 4 AW249 had been built; 1 prototype and 3 pre-production helicopters. None of these 4 will enter service; they serve as development pieces. (17 June 2025)

The yellow Shark was not yet certified and carried a duplicate regi just for promotion. It will later be known as a Shark Sport, designation Shark 600S.
The Sécurite Civile H145, model BK117D-3, F-ZBQS was parked in front of an Airbus A350 from Emirates. During the public days, this area was off-limits. (19 June 2025, Erwin van Dijkman)
Another helicopter in this same area was H225M Caracal F-ZKCQ. The markings of the future operator, the Hungarian Air Force, were clearly visible including its serial 85, which was 'crossed out'. (19 June 2025, Erwin van Dijkman)

The 55th installment of the Paris Air Show started with a flood of orders for Airbus. The trade show runs Monday-Thursday followed by public days on Friday-Sunday. The flying display is in the afternoon.
From Wednseday/Thursday some trade show visitors tend to leave whereas visitors for the public show start to arrive. Were we could, we have noted these departure and arrival dates. lastly, the airfield is an active business jet hub and has a large museum that was open to the public.
