After the droning of the most of the Russia air forces large bomber bases was a new MiG-31 air unit found. On Irkutsk-Angarsk-Belaya air base is a new unit with 20 MiG-31. Probably it is a unit with MiG-31I or MiG-31K. The unit is planned as the asian part of the aircraft type but was according some sources planned for Savaleyka air base. The plans now seams to changed as the result of the Ukrainan war. Both air bases, Savasleyka and Angarsk have large protected aircraft shelters. Savasleyka have 19 protected places and Angarsk have 12 places. The aircraft holding for Savasleyka is 12 aircraft and Angarsk 19 aircaft. Some of the aircraft have no radars or instead have equipment for missile command and the aircraft are ground or aircraft commanded (AWACS). One variant of missile is the Kinzhal. Kinzhal is used for bombing of Ukriane. But the Kinzhal is also developing for use as a anti satellite missile.

Pictures from the droning of Olenogorsk, Ivanovo, Dyagilevo and Angarsk air bases.

https://www.svt.se/nyheter/utrikes/sate ... spindelnat

The program leader speaking English but he use satellite pictures who everyone can follow. He came to the same result as Massive bomb attack on Russian bomber bases in number of lost Tu-95 and Tu-22M3.

I have followed satellite pictures of the bases in several years now.

Olenogorsk.
Several of the Tu-22M3 bombers are in storage and need modification.

Angarsk-Belaya.
Several of the Tu-22M3 bombers are in storage and need modification.

Ivanovo.
The A-50 must be in open storage, some hit of drones.

Swedish radar plane hailed after historic air battle – helped Ukraine shoot down Russian super aircraft.

Ukraine’s air defense achieved a historic success this weekend when a Russian Su-35 fighter jet, also known as the “Super Flanker”, was shot down – for the first time ever by a Ukrainian F-16 plane. The incident occurred in the Kursk region, about 16 kilometers into Russia, according to Russian information. The pilot is said to have ejected.

The spectacular shootdown has received a lot of attention – not least thanks to an actor in the background: the Swedish radar reconnaissance plane ASC 890. According to the German newspaper Bild, two F-16 planes participated together with a Swedish ASC 890 that detected the Russian plane at a distance of between 200 and 300 kilometers. The information was passed on to the Ukrainian planes, which were then able to fire an Amraam fighter missile with a direct hit as a result.

American analyst Jake Broe underlines Sweden's importance: "The theory is that Ukraine now has its Swedish Saab AEW&C aircraft operational with its F-16 fleet," he notes.

The Swedish aircraft were donated as part of the military aid package that the government presented in May last year - the 16th in a row. The focus at the time was on strengthening Ukraine's air defense, and Defense Minister Pål Jonsson (M) emphasized the strategic importance of the plane:

- They give Ukraine greater opportunities to find different types of targets, identify threats and support the combat command of the F-16 plane, he said according to TV4 Nyheterna.

In connection with the presentation, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) showed off the plane at Bromma Airport, together with the Ukrainian ambassador. - They are extremely useful, Kristersson said at the time, pointing out that the plane's technology would significantly enhance the effect of the F-16 aircraft.

The Swedish ASC 890 are improved with JAS-39C and JAS-39E sensors. And especially with other new sensors such as Global Eye passive sensors and software. Wherefor it become also a type of intelligence aircraft.

And maybee improved with AI software.

We get a proof that the Su-34 use Kinzhal missiles with the grounding of a Su-34 on Savaleyka air base. Savaleyka air base is used as a storage for Kinzhal missiles and loading of tactical aircraft such as the Su-34 and MiG-31I or MiG-31K. On Savasleyka is 12 MiG-31 based with some forward based on Lipetsk air base near Ukraine. Su-34 is more forward based on Savasleyka for loading of Kinzhal missiles. It is also Kinzhal wich is used against civilian targets in Ukraine.

Until now, only MiG-31K aircraft were known to have employed the Kinzhal missile in combat.
On Sept. 4, 2023. “The Su-34 fighter jet used the Kinzhal hypersonic missile in the special military operation.

Reports talk about friendly fire incident (some even say that the 2nd jet shot down the first). It may also be a weapon malfunction.

Interesting is that the number of S-300/S-400 ground to air missiles are declining. They are transferred to Ukraine area, or used against drones mostly in Moscow area.

Most of the reduced sites are in Moscow area. They use the cheese cutter method were they reduce the number of sites over Russia but most in Moscow area. In eastern Moscow is a huge SAM arsenal, and this is now near empty.

Over the whole Russia is over 40 SAM S-300/S-400 regiments, with each one Big Bird radar. Each SAM site have up to 24 launchers. Many of these radars are now lost in Ukranie area, and replaced with Big Bird radars from other parts of Russia.

In Ukraine are the SAM:s also used as cruise missiles.
