Short visit to Cologne-Bonn for the 2 Blue Air 737s but the 737-800 (YR-BMQ) unfortunately took cross runway 24 and not runway 14L like the rest so only got the 737-500 (YR-BAG), grrrr !!

Pretty good day and went out for the Hungarian A319. Russki was seen a few times before but never say no to a Tuup. It attracted about 30 spotters from various countries! Saudi Medevac was a very nice bonus.

Köln-Bonn saw some really interesting aircraft last week as no less than 2 Antonov planes came on 28/8: the small Antonov 26 is the only one flying for the Antonov Airlines/ADB so even rarer than his big brother that came earlier in the day. The NASA Gulfstream 5 comes about once a month and was finally parked in a better position than last time.

Yesterday was important day at Cologne-Bonn as the German Air Force said farewell to the A310MRTT! 10+26 flanked by 2 Tornados did the honors with a slow pass over runway 24 with hoses out, a pass over downtown Cologne and a fast run incl. break up over the airport via runway 32R. Not sure when the A330MRTTs are coming to CGN )1st later this year?) but it seems a little premature to say goodbye already in September.

D-AGAF A359 Luftwaffe (future 10+03) just did its first touch and go on CGN's runway 24 around 16.30. Has been doing a test flight all over Germany the last 6 hours and seems to be heading back to Hamburg

The first Luftwaffe A359 was delivered to CGN this morning. The 10+03 did a t/go on runway 24 before it landed at 14L in the rain......

Passed by CGN on Sunday to catch some traffic of the Formula 1/ Eifel Grand Prix race that was held at the iconic Nurburgring circuit south of Bonn. I was hoping to catch the bizjets that brought drivers and VIPS etc. The numbers of bizjets were a little disappointing but also got a few nice freighters that were needed. Due to Corona only 20,000 instead of 100,000 spectators were allowed at the race so presume that also dampened the amount of bizjets. Plus Cologne parks bizjets in all possible locations so often freighters or buildings block various paring positions so various were missed plus there were quite a few drop and go visits over the last few days. Present was also the new Luftwaffe A350 that was delivered 2 days earlier.
