Hi all,

The following was seen during a couple of hours in the afternoon on Thursday April 26th:

resident C-130J-30's (37th AS 'RS'):
88602 '86OG', 88603 '37AS', 78609, 68611, 15736, 65840, plus 1 more

visitors/TDY:
02 C-17A HAW
0213 M28B/PT Polish AF (l/n 8BLTr)
0214 M28B/PT Polish AF (l/n 33BLTr)
70048 C-17A 89AS/AFRC
21099 C-17A 437AW
33114 C-17A 183AS/MSANG
55139 C-17A 729AS/AFRC
88200 C-17A 62AW
83173 C-130J-30 317AW
169225/BH-225 KC-130J VMGR-252
5Y-SIR Cessna 550
plus unknown 1x UH-60 and 2x AH-64D US Army

relics, decoys, etc.:
(68-0554/'RS') RF-4C ex USAF wears 'USAFE' on fuselage, outside on the ramp

Any help with the Black Hawk and Apaches would be great!

Can't help you with the helicopters, but I am very curious to know on which ramp the RF-4C was parked!

The RF-4C was parked on the mid ramp close to the C-130 ramp. It was visible from both the Bismarckturm and the Herrengärtchen viewing spot. The tail could also be seen from the Einsiedlerhof runway end.

Weird. She was seen and photographed there a few days before I had a ramp visit on April 17th but not seen then... :shock:

The RF-4 is one that has been in the South West Ramp area for years in a shelter. It was towed to Ramp 2-1 for a while then towed into a hangar to be washed. It has been towed back to Ramp 2-1 after the wash. It is rumored that it is being prepared to be placed as a gate guard or put on display somewhere.

She must have been in the soapy hangar during my visit....

I did a little research and the RF-4C is a battle damage repair plane formally from Zweibruken ZR 68-554. The paint job is not accurate that it is in now. There is also a Battle Damage Repair F-15 stored in one of the shelters near the Ammo Dump but I don't know the SN or Tail Number.

First noted this bird in 1986, indeed wearing AR tailcode but already in lizard c/s. :cry:
