wamovements wrote:It should indeed be FA38 with the tail from FA25. Sadly no markings on the F-16 were present for 100% identification. There was a canopie under it marked as FA06 (w/o 1985). Many more F-16 canopies were noted with the museum and two more F-104G tails as well. Also present in this area was the front fuselage of F-104 FX-41 and of course Fouga MT-14. The Starfighter Rob is refering to should be FX02, but was abraded
We were told the F-16 was Fa-49 is this definately incorrect?
Thanks

As every time when Belgium announces a mega air event, also KB decreased to only an average airshow!

The French (Rafale and Ramex Delta) made my day. Other highlights were the Belgian Air Component NH90s and Al Fursan. In my opinion this already was it.

Sadly it rained cancellations (CF-18, Typhoon, removing French Navy Rafale from flying to static, C-27J, T-33, A400M, KDC-10 and so on). The red card for Zeus was also disappointing, as was the cancellation of the Slovak MiG-29 on Saturday.

I cannot understand why organizers (supported by the higly recommended Sanicole Team) put fast jet displays in the early morning timetable. Everyone knows that haze in the morning is normal in this region when it is mid september!

The airpower demo was also rather boring. There were 10-15 minutes when nothing happened in the air, except some shooting by ground troops in front of the VIP tent. The Belgians never will reach KLu stansards, where this and far more will happen within half an hour instead of a full hour. So better let it be...

The Sanicole support seemingly did`nt work. Sometimes more than 10 minutes gaps between displays are not a sign of good work!

Yep, a shame really, many things could and should have been better organised the last three days... :|

The "Spotters' Day" left a lot to be desired.

Did anyone read off the Mirage 2000N closest to the road in the shelter area on Saturday?

ZEUS got a red card during his rehearsal on friday evening.
His show on friday evening was the best performance of the show. Indeed he lost trach and flew to close to the public but that is what we like :respect:

Fully agree. Furtermore I had to walk from the road where we have been droped by a bus from parking spot A. It was a walk way to long with all my gear. It looked so prommesing but the performance was not even close to the tiger meet in 2009 which was a great organised event.

The persons who gave comment during the show (saturday) , didn't know the exact program. Well for most of the time ...
A positive note; they tried to get the Portugese All 3 from Gilze-Rijen. It didn't work out, but they gave it a try

I take offence at the harsh criticism about the spotters' day. We have been pampered at KB by a number of very good spotters' days, which were put up on the occasion of exercises. One should bear in mind that during the day prior to a major airshow the organisers have to take many variables into account. During an exercise it may be possible to have the partcipating fast jets taxi in front of the photographers. Last Friday the organisers had to deal with fast jets, light aircraft, transports and helicopters. But also having to move them in a certain sequence so as to prevent one aircraft blocking another. Also think of all the displays personnel had to prepare. I can very well imagine that the organisers had to compromise, and we, the photographers, had to make do.
The remark that the Belgians will never reach the standards of the Netherlands air force is embarrasing to me as a Dutchman. The commentary during the 10-minute staged combat in front of the VIP-tent made clear what was happening, even though at that time no aircraft were passing by. I liked the power demo, which gave good opportunities to shoot the brandnew NH90.
Even though I can also think of some imrovements, I liked the show.

I fully agree! And please stop writing nonsense about things you can only speculate about, not knowing the truth, for example the reason for the Slovakian MiG not flying on saterday due to a red cart.
