Why is this tailband/fintip green with orange instead of the normal opposite orange with green? Different flight?

In that time you had two flights: the green flight and the orange flight and if memory serves me well it was the shelters on the north and south part of the runway. At that time the 32nd TFS had over 30 Eagles and dividing them into two flights made it a bit more easier.

The 32nd from a certain moment on indeed had two flights. One with the usual orange stripe, with green borders and one with a green stripe, with orange borders.

If you look closely at Peter's pic, you see the orange borders along the green stripe.

If I remember well, the reason for the two flights was, that the 32nd had more aircraft than a squadron usually had. I might be wrong with this though.

Anyway, I miss them.........

Rgds,
Gerard
