Hi, why you never mention the 0 (as first digit) in the ATC-callsign? Is there a specific reason?

Most times when i hear a pilot call his sign, its pronounced without the first Zero.
Correct me if i'm wrong...

Not specific for the zero, they may abbreviate the callsign, but with the initial call is it common to use the whole callsign.
