Nea Anchialos (Greece/LGBL) explosions and evacuation

According to a post in Dutch newspaper Telegraaf, quoting a Greek X-account, an ammunition dump of the HAF at Nea Anchialos was on fire with multiple explosions seen and heard today. The airbase was evacuated and the resident F-16's flown to other airbases. There might be a connection to the wildfir...

Re: Frisian Flag 2023 speculation

It is beginning to look more and more like an F-35-only exercise... in a few years time, when the Danish, Finnish and German AF add their F-35's it will be even more so...

As pprune mentions, aircraft seems to have hit a tree with the right wing, shearing off its float. Also, the crash was on the island of Evia near Kar...

Re: Vancouver YVR - 6/9/2023

Nice ones! I have never been there, is there someone that can shed some light on the story and the registrations behind the derelict S-92 airframes?

Re: 14-16 July 2023: RIAT Fairford. Participants, etc.

Indeed, it was, thanks! Grumman American AA-5 Traveller G-BEZG. Identified by its tail, its colours and its landing gear that could be seen in my picture of its neighbour on the static, G-BNKI  It's not in the official RIAT checklist, though...

Re: 14-16 July 2023: RIAT Fairford. Participants, etc.

Small CIVIL question: what civil aircraft was in the static next to yellow Cessna G-BNKI? It had covers on early morning so I did not bother to check; on the way out I forgot...

ZM154/020 flew in formation with Spanish EAV-8B
13-5776 was the MC-130J that flew in formation with CV-22 11-0058

Re: Nationaal Militair Museum Soesterberg

The story at the time of the transfer to Heerenveen was that the fin had (almost) come off during a storm in early 2022. But it is not just the Dutch climate... Before it came to Soesterberg, it belonged to the Greek AF and had been withdrawn from use there for many years, having been stored in the ...
