My Portuguese is not up to scratch, but it appears that a vital clue was lost in translation of the Portuguese text in English... if I'm correct that says that the incident was initially kept secret from higher authority. In plain English: a cover up of something that was not supposed to have happen...
"Beachavenue" trekt wel meer dagjesmensen aan dan "Beechavenue" denk ik :D Lijkt me een goede reden om het snel te veranderen  . Alle gekheid op een stokje: in weekenden staan er soms wel 10-15 auto's in die bocht (vorig jaar was dat volgens mij nog niet zo) en zitten er hele families te pickn...
It (this process and its political, financial and military implications) is getting more and more ridiculous every day. If this continues, the only way out for the USAF MIGHT be to stop flying missions that require tanker support altogether. It is difficult to see how the USAF will be able to sustai...
Additional information thanks to Otger van der Kooij and Frank van de Waardenburg: the other fuselage at Bitburg is also ex-Vissenaken: Mirage 5BD BD-13. Both (BA-51) and BD-13 have been there since 2009, so that tallies with Wygert's observation that they were gone in 2009! This leaves only the fus...
Two of them have turned up at Bitburg (serious!) One is (BA-51) and the other one at present is unknown. They were noted there recently by some fellow-Eindhoven spotters. See also post and pictures on the ewas-site: http://www.ewas.nl/eforum/viewtopic.php?t=8992&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0" onc...
Robin, that is correct! I logged N191DN myself as well (was standing behind you, actually...). Do you also happen to have the BEL A330's, the EZy and the BD700 mentioned above for me please?
edit: thanks to skystef @luchtzak: the BD700 was OY-MSI and the EZY was G-EZBH.
No problem. You can actually (and easily) see it from the E17; when heading towards Koksijde you pass it (it's on your right hand side) just before you reach the exit. So, if you're in a hurry you won't even have to get off the highway... Happy hunting!
Well, in July 2009 it was still there on top of its container. It is located at a yard containing lots of containers and other heavy equipment. The yard is located between the Raveschoot and the E17 highway, just NE of exit 11 off the E17. if you use Google maps you can see it next to the right-hand...
Just checked the French civil aviation register; apparently F-BLLR (c/n 12) is still operational out of Caen. For the rest they only mention F-BLLY/18; that one belonged to Aero Impex but was broken up in 1983. just been looking a bit further; according to Aviafrance it must have been 18... (look ou...
All I know is that the Beech/SFERMA 60 was a conversion by SFERMA of the Beech Baron. The conversion consisted of re-engining the Baron with Astazou turboprops. It was also known as the Marquis; AFAIK 14 aircraft were "produced" between 1960 and 1962. Most registrations appear to have been in the F-...
