Wittmund will close for three weeks (18 june - 6 july) due to runway repairs. Aprox. 14 F-4F Phantoms (and the A-4 skyhawks) will deploy to Jever for the duration.

Not real news but the following has been decided, The NL Air Force will keep 8 Cougar helicopters active (these include 3 for SAR duties) The DC10 aircraft T-255 wil remain active till the 31st december 2013. The following aircraft will have to go, 9 x Cougar 3 x AB412 20 x Lynx 2 x Fokker 50 18 F-1...

On monday the 17th of may one of the Fokker 60 aircraft is supposed to make its first testflight.

I was afraid something like this would happen, if the bureaucrats and regulators get their claws into this...... I would not be surprised if this T-bird will leave the Netherlands by truck!

A Lockheed T-33A (N132GB) made a precautionary landing at Twenthe today. The aircraft was enroute from Billund, via Nordholz to Niederrhein for a fuel stop. Final destination is Hahn. The aircraft had an electrical failure and had no radio contact with any ATC station.

Teh main runway 05/23 is closed till the end of this year. The paralell runway 05R/23L is in use. The field is PPR so there will not be many visitors or practice approaches!

Been there in 2008, the nice thing is that they have normal flying operations on Friday and Monday. Not all bases are suitable for photography on Friday and Monday but at Larissa they pass just in front of you when they taxi out (and in). The open-days are meant for the local people and for schools ...

There were still some question marks for some aircraft at Dekelia Tatoi but I received some answers from the museum itself. The silver TF104G was the 62-12274 with the tail of the 12278, it will bes restored to become 12274 (the oldest TF104G in HAF service) The silver N2501 Noratlas is the 53-258. ...

An Italian AF HH3F helicopter crashed in France not far from Strasbourg. The helicopter was on it's way to Florennes to take part in the CSAR mission.

The HH3F was on its way to Florennes for the CSAR mission!
