What a load of Russian bullsh*t-propaganda on that Sputniknews-site! If that's what the Russians really believe, the cold war is back, worse than ever before.
I'm not sure. Stupid me: I took a photo too and forgot the write down the number.
But all other F-15s on the flightline of Bitburg that day were FY 1984.
Nice photos, Peter. Like Koen, I was one of the hundreds of 'losers' standing outside, having a grand day out! Some from me. My first day at the fence since 2006! Best take-off of the day. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8788/17149377921_18b9dc73b8_o.jpg F-15C Florida by Rob Schleiffert , on Flickr B...
@Catbird. Amazing! Those west coast P-3s looked much better than most east coast P-3s. The future Catbird 150515 is interesting, but I like the LS-Orion at Valkenburg the most: I'd never seen a photo of an LS-P-3 at EHVB.
Nice Portuguese P-3s, JohnB and Erwin, but somehow your photos hurt. Some more then: The Dragons of VP-56 landing at Valkenburg, October 1984. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5599/15508515782_622f43c4f1_b.jpg Spanish P-3s were rarely seen at Valkenburg, but in September 1989 two Orions were based her...
@Pelican: thanks! PM sent, with log. Browsing through this topic, I got in the mood, so here are some more P-3 Orions! Valkenburg early January 1985. No activity on the flightline, but with a USN P-3C of VP-56. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8653/15858111148_4b09f39bcf_b.jpg According to 'the books'...
Great! I'm sure somebody has pics of our arrival show -- a five-ship with the all red NF-5A flying as lead (inverted at one point). If memory serves, visibility wasn't very good that day, and we flew all over the place trying to find Eindhoven...
