Afternoon flight must have taken off around 1450. Two Mirages B...

Re: BA115 Orange-Caritat (LFMO) 2018

Orange LFMO & Ardeche region Monday 20-08-2018 Did not visit BA Orange because NOTAM said runway construction works in the morning. At 1140 the Patrouille de France flew low over the Ardeche region, in formation with one blue Mirage 2000. From the Ardeche region I could determine that Orange did fly...

Re: BA115 Orange-Caritat (LFMO) 2018

Orange LFMO (& region) Thursday 16-08-2018 A NOTAM said runway out if use 10-12h local time, due to works. So no flying expected in the morning. But at 9:20 (about 15min earlier than normal) one M2000C appears above Sampzon. It performs a full looping right above our campsite and continues in the di...

Re: BA115 Orange-Caritat (LFMO) 2018

Orange LFMO Friday 10-08-2018 (MIL) Runway repair works so hardly any flying today (I should have checked the NOTAM...). Anyway, this is the morning log: 9:00 unidentified Fennec takes off. 9:41 "QRA activated" on the scanner. Shorty afterwards I hear the startup and it takes another minute or so be...

Die heeft gewoon vrijdag het oorspronkelijke programma overgeschreven met zijn naam eronder en is weekend gaan vieren. Zo zie je maar weer... geloof nooit wat er in de krant staat.

Re: Military training area's in France?

The RTBA is not really of use if you want to see Mirages and Rafales. Pilots tend to fly just outside this network because it does not require booking the sections in the RTBA system. At least that was around Luxeuil but their Mirage 2000-5 are for air-to-air, of course. The Vallee du Mars (look for...

Re: Bastille day 2018 in Paris, France.

This was my first time in Paris on July 14th. Probably won't be the last[/img] A nice set of photos! A good side view from the northeast. From what location did you take them? I was at the Arc de Triomphe du Caroussel for the head on shot of the Patrouille de France (with wrong color of smoke). htt...

you have 92-0918/SP (which is actually 92-3918/SP) listed 2 times in your log. So did you see only 11 or is this a misread?
I saw only 11.
This one, 92-3918/SP, came back after a touch and go.

French "Mach loop"

At the open day in Nancy I spoke with a Mirage 2000D's WSO. He told me there is a kind of a French Mach Loop: the Vallee du Mars. This translates as Mars Valley and the name sure fits in between Mach Loop and Starwars Canyon. It is in the Massiv Central. The village of Le Vaulmier is in the valley. ...
