Re: Sony Alpha 580

KLU recovers J79 engines

It is reported by Radio2 that the KLu is going to recover the J79 engines, which used to power the F-104 Starfighter, from schools and institutes to which the engines were donated after radiation was measured in one of the engines. It was also reported that the same engine showed traces of asbestos.

Re: Tampere Show

Did somebody noticed any unit markings on both PC-12s?

Neither PC-12 wore unit markings.

On departure on Monday I noticed a MiG-21 in the SW corner of the base as well as 8 F-18s on the flightline.

Re: DH104 'Dove'

My educated guess is that it was D-INKA returning from Duxford.

I saw it when I touched down at STD Saturday a.m. When I took off from STD this morning it had gone.

Re: Duxford Flying Legends 10/11 July 2010

I don't know anything about the Gold Pass, but I do know--after frequent visits to Flying Legends--that the best spot for the photographer is between the Tank Museum and the taxiway. The crowd line at Duxford is situated facing the south east, which means that photography with backlight is possible ...

Re: Hyeres - 100 years Aeronavale - 13 june 2010

All of us that attended Hyeres were lucky--unless you count the hapless pilot of the FW-190, of course. Only three days after the event the airport was closed because of flooding due to heavy rain. Would have been a nightmare if this had happened during the show weekend...

You can delete the question mark against the HH-32 unit. At Seongnam a crew member was seen wearing a badge with the number 235 it it.

Osan Air Power Day

One day prior to the event most if not all aircraft have turned up with the Korean delegation consisting of an F-5E, F-15K, F-4E, C-130H, KF-16C, T-50 as well as a pair of KT-1's. The US is fielding the local F-16's, A-10's and TR-1. An AK C-17 performs its demo. For the rest little of note.

Re: Seoul Air Show 2009

And a T-50 (prototype, now with radar nose), a KO-1 and KT-1, an S-64E as well as A380 F-WWDD with partly Korean markings. Most of the flying was cancelled on Monday due to strong winds. Apparently the O-2's of the local squadron have been replaced by KO-1's. Much in attendance also wer a pair of ne...

Re: Luchtlandingen 19 Sept. 2009 (Airborne Memorial Jump)

Does anyone know whether there will be flights on Sunday 20th September? Last year at Soesterberg the US C-130s made multiple flights on Sunday. What can we expect this Sunday?
